Designing Native Plant Gardens

Description

Tennessee is one of the most biodiverse states in the country. Learn how to design a native plant garden that showcases Middle Tennessee's splendor and supports local ecosystems. This class will focus on all of the reasons to use more native plants in designed and wild landscapes in urban environments. It will review some basic design concepts for both wild meadow/prairie yards as well as yards which have to meet some HOA specifications. It will concentrate on the concepts of matrix design and dense planting. Finally, it will suggest some native plants, especially keystone species plants, to create a native habitat.
